We had a great first day! Jacob Hord led our Morning Glow and encouraged us to have a positively beautiful day (check out the song). As each team left they went to the altar or church/sleeping quarters/meeting room and remembered what they were grateful for. Work included packing boxes at the Food Bank - enough to feed a family for 3 years! The group at CEOC stocked shelves and prepared to serve clients at their grocery store including fresh veggies and fruit! The group at Cooper Center played with children and made an award winning video! The crew that stayed at the church removed pews, began to renovate the kitchen, and built a compost and garden! The youth were AMAZING according to pastor Sara. After a home cooked dinner, we celebrated Everett's birthday with a walk to get ice cream. The day concluded with reflections from the worksites, painting chalkboard anchors, watching a video, journaling and reflecting from the book Under the Overpass. We are up at 7 am again this morning and ready for another positively beautiful day!
